Beagle mix terrier dogs are receptive to training, yet should be kept an eye on.
In appearance, these dogs are sturdy, compactly built, and muscular. Their large hazel eyes give them a characteristic pleading expression. Their ears are long, wide and pendant. The coat of the dog is short and dense. It does not need much grooming other than regular brushing. There are two size varieties of these dogs: those under 13 inches and those of under 15 inches at the withers. There is no difference in their temperament, as they were both developed for hunting, but the size of their game varies a little.

These are good-natured hounds that were bred to be pack animals. A very ancient breed, it is used as gundogs and family companions at present. Also, these hounds can make excellent watchdogs. However, in order to enjoy the best characteristics of this breed, your pet should be properly trained and socialized. These dogs are neither protective nor territorial, so they cannot be used as guardians. They are very friendly and curious and will enjoy playing with every stranger. These hounds tend to follow their nose and should not be trusted outdoors. Attracted with a new scent, these dogs may take off and get lost.
