However, these dogs should not be trusted with non-canine pets. Firm and consistent obedience exercises are very important for this breed. These small hunting hounds are intelligent, alert, and inquisitive. They tend to follow their nose and have a strong hunting instinct. Their owners are recommended to exercise their pets in safe areas. The main reasons for surrendering these hounds are difficulties in training and hyper activity.
